The Fall Welcome Picnic happened on Friday, September 5th in Patriarche Park. I'm just now making a post about it since I finally remembered to upload the photos from my phone!
With the loom of bad weather upon us, the Department met and had joyous occasion with food and catching up from over the summer. Speaking of food, it was great. I'm a huge barbecue lover, and this picnic felt like I was having one at home with my family. It's so cheesy to say this, but even after just a year, I feel so at home in this department.
I didn't attend the 2013 picnic, because I didn't catch wind of it or even knew how to get there. I was just a freshman in my 2nd week of school. Much of the conversation I heard was that we had a "great turnout" compared to the last couple of years, which is great! I hope attendance continues to grow.
At 7:00 pm exactly (exactly exactly.. I looked at my watch), the sky opened up in torrential downpour. Most of the party was concluding by that point, but by the time I realized it was time to clean up, it was REALLY time to get going! Thanks to Ray for the ride to and from the picnic.
It was a great time, and I'm really looking forward to next year!
